Kandos projects is an artist-run residency which operates as an artist and writer’s retreat, research and exhibition space. We see ourselves primarily as a project space and encourage the development of projects which engage with the local community and environment. We welcome all forms of practice, and encourage with works which deal with data-mapping, permaculture, sustainability, activism, ethics, and local/global debates across a broad range of mediums, including sound and electronic arts. We have a large garden area with street access also available for projects (at no 9 Angus).
There are four large street front windows for 24 hour display (day and night, with several lighting options).
There are three workshop areas which can be configured to suit various projects, including the setting up of front two rooms for gallery display.
For artists who intend to run workshops, NAVA insurance of approximately $200 per annum must be taken out.
At the present moment, the gallery cannot run a till or cash register and any sales must be arranged via a contact number exhibited in the window.
